OlivPress Inc. is a family owned business located in the beautiful seaside community of Sarasota Florida. The vision to have a publishing company that printed Christian art and literature was conceived in 2002, but lay dormant for some time. Then in 2020 the pieces started to come together for founders Scott and Sandra Patton. 

Since childhood, Scott's desire for art grew from an interest into a passion as he spent much of his spare time creating things. In high school, his art teacher noticed him giving a good deal more effort than most other students. So he encouraged him to stay on track  to see if the emerging talent would become fruitful. When Scott and Sandra met in 2002, the creative chemistry between them began to bubble up into some amazing works of biblical art!

When Scott's computer business tapered off in 2020, he decided it was time to move his vision forward, so he began painting more frequently. Then he was inspired to produce some high quality witnessing tracts with his artwork combined with images of his paintings. He first ordered 2500 cards and began passing them out. This is how he and Sandra began a ministry of incorporating beautiful, inspired Christian art with the gospel in a well planned and designed card. Most people find these delightful little cards hard to throw away.

Things began taking root in 2024 as more biblical oil paintings were being produced. Scott would wait upon the Lord for inspiration and revelation so that he could avoid wasting precious time on works made of the proverbial "wood, hay and stubble." Each painting presented new challenges as styles and techniques evolved around the powerful messages that were being told from the canvases.

When 2025 rolled around, it was time to concentrate more on the business side of OlivPress Inc. The filing of the corporation, the ecommerce website, the marketing and the R&D of certain products made for some interesting challenges and feelings of dwelling in the "Olive Press!" Now you know where the name came from. Not to mention the crushing financial burden of a startup with zero income. But, we know that valuable oil flows from olives that are crushed in the olive press.

Nevertheless, the Lord was faithfully present through every valley of the shadow of death and saw the Patton family through some difficult seasons. Isn't it wonderful how He transforms our most difficult and broken chapters into beautiful works of art that bring glory and honor to Him?
